Altered "crisp" sugar cookie:
1/2 c shortening
1 c sugar
1 egg equivilent
1/2 ts vanilla extract
2 1/2 c all-purpose flour
3/4 ts baking powder
1/2 ts baking soda
1/4 ts salt
2 Ts milk
In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs and vanilla.
Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a separate bowl
Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with the milk.
Cover and refrigerate for 15 to 30 minutes.
On a floured surface, roll out dough to 1/8-inch thickness.
Cut out cookies into desired shapes
place 2 inches apart on a greased baking sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees F. for 10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
